The somo•v® Automated Breast Ultrasound's ergonomic design significantly reduces the physical stress of acquisition. Intelligent software optimizes system parameters and, with a single sweep, captures consistent, high quality volumetric images. Image acquisition is separated from image reading and evaluating, enabling a workflow that is similar to MR and CT.
The foundation for ultrasound automation and standardization by the somo•v, allows breast ultrasound to be combined in centralized reading locations with other breast imaging modalities. This centralized reading capability may allow additional productivity gains to be achieved in today's breast imaging facilities.
somo•v Image Examples and Key Points
The somo•v® automatically determines the patient's breast tissue signature to set the ideal ultrasound imaging parameters. Standardized views are used depending on the size of the breast. Under precise computer-controlled guidance, the breast is scanned with somo•v's 15 centimeter long transducer acquiring a 15 x 17 x 5 centimeter volume of data. Follow-up exams can be easily compared due to somo•v's reproducibility and standardization.

The patented thick-slice Coronal View provides a global impression of the breast in a plane parallel to the chest wall, providing a more intuitive representation of the breast.

The display station's dashboard has all the functionality of an ultrasound system - precise clock position, distance, and depth, bookmarking, annotation, calipers, and CINE.
